Visitors are welcome to bring one or two well-behaved dogs by prior arrangement per cottage holiday. Dogs should be kept under strict control for the comfort of other guests. Our
holiday cottages are in the midst of open farmland and sheep and cattle
graze the adjoining pasture. There are a number of way-marked tracks
nearby which are good for dog walking.
Built in the early 19th century as a thrashing mill, The Mill House
is constructed of local stone under a slate roof. Powered by a water
wheel fed from a pond behind it, the mill was only run for a few hours
at a time to handle crops from the adjacent land. The machinery separated
straw and chaff from the grain which was then sent away for grinding.
The flour or meal was then returned to the farm to be stored in a stone
kist, for use by the family throughout the year. More about
